Description Production
These sweet and tangy Sundried Tomatoes are a rich, colorful addition to your savory dishes. Whole slices and flavor-rich. Sundried at low temperatures.

While tomatoes are closely associated with Italian cuisine, they are actually originally native to the western side of South America. Classified as a fruit in a botanical sense, tomatoes don't have the dessert quality sweetness of other fruits. Instead they have a subtle sweetness that is complemented by a slightly bitter and acidic taste. The flavor of sundried tomatoes blends well with other tastes to expand and round out favors. They are a delectable, sophisticated, colorful ingredient in most savory dishes.

Health Benefits of Tomatoes: Tomatoes are an excellent source of vitamin C, vitamin A, and vitamin K, vitamin B1, vitamin B6, vitamin B2, folate, vitamin E, molybdenum, potassium, manganese, chromium, copper, niacin, magnesium, iron, pantothenic acid, phosphorus, dietary fiber, and protein.

Due to their rich nutrient profile, recent studies show that a tomato rich diet is associated with a reduced risk of certain conditions: Prostate Cancer, Colorectal cancer, Pancreatic cancer, Digestive Disorders, Breast, Lung and Cervical Cancers, Heart Disease Migraine headache, Asthma, and Diabetes.

Tomatoes contain the carotenoid Lycopene, a phytochemical and proven antioxidant that fights free radicals in the body. Ounce per ounce sundried tomatoes have 12 times the amount of lycopene than a raw tomato! The antioxidant function of lycopene-its ability to help protect cells and other structures in the body from oxygen damage-has been linked in human research to the protection of DNA (our genetic material) inside of white blood cells.
