This recipe is so simple and really satisfying! Why I never thought to make it in the past 2 years since I've been doing this raw food thing is really quite astonishing considering how much I enjoy chocolate and apples! The recipe below will make between 3-6 covered apples depending on the size. Be sure to place the skewer in before you begin to make things easier on yourself. A little side note though, don't leave these little ones in the freezer, it's not so fun when the apples freeze through...
Raw Caramel Apples
2 Tbsp Coconut Oil
1 Tsp Mesquite
½ Tsp Cinnamon
Pinch of Salt
¼ C dates
Water as needed
Blend together to form caramel, then roll apples to fully coat
Cover in:
1/4 cup ground buckwheat
In food processor or mixing bowl combine, then drizzle over apples
2 Tb cacao powder
2 ½ Tbsp Coconut Nectar
2 Tb nut butter
3 Tb melted coconut oilPlace in freezer for a few minutes to harder, indulge!
