Our Favorite Smoothie Recipes- Part II

12-08-2010 11:44 AM By Superfoodie

Here it is, the second round-up of our favorite smoothie recipes!  What can I say, we just love sharing our daily routines with you all and hope they make you feel as good as they do us.  An added benefit is that many of these can double as a dessert  or afternoon treat...and you know how we love our treats ;-)   Enjoy! Susu's Chocolate Smile: 3 T green hemp seed meal 3-4 T cacao powder or paste 1/2 c white mulberries or other dried superfruits 1 T coconut oil, melted 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice 2 c water 2 drops tangerine essential oil, optional Blend well and enjoy for breakfast or early in the day for a little pick-me-up! Ben's Chai Charger: 2 c steeped chai tea, warm or chilled 2 T chia seeds

2 tsp vanilla powder

2 T sprouted almond butter 2 T lucuma 2 T Warrior Food Protein powder 2 tsp maca 1-2 T raw honey to taste (or other sweetener of choice) pinch pink salt Blend well and drink when you need a lift...you can kiss your coffee goodbye after this one! Krisanga's Warming Winter Spice: (serves 2)

4 c nut milk ( almond or green hemp)* 8 T chia seeds 1 Tcinnamon 1 T medicinal mushrooms (reishi, cordyceps, etc) 1 T vanilla powder 1 T maca 2 T mesquite meal 1 T yacon syrup or liquid stevia of choice (1 dropper) favorite green powder, optional Add all ingredients to the blender and blend well.  Share with a loved one :) For another version, blend nut milk with all ingredients except chia and pour into bowl or jar.  Add chia and stir well several times to evenly distribute.  Let sit for 1/2 hour or so until chia softens to a tapioca-like consistency.  Eat anytime you want a comforting porridge type treat. *For nut milk, add 1 c almonds (soaked for 12 hours and drained) or green hemp seed meal to blender with 4 c water and blend well.  Strain through a nut milk bag and pour back into blender to make the smoothie or stir in chia seeds for the porridge.
